his is a truly beautiful hotel that has been wonderfully restored. It lies in one of the bustling main streets of old Damascus. It is close to many of the city’s historical attractions as well as to the bars, nightclubs and cafes. The staff are really helpful, although their lack of English and my lack of Arabic meant most conversations were conducted via Google Translate. Breakfast at present isn’t available. The price of a room is negotiable and proved more than reasonable. We moved to this hotel from one further down the street, which was unbearably noisy due to its proximity to a number of clubs and pubs.
